Vietnam's Forest Conservation Program to Boost Green Economy and Poverty Reduction
The goal of the Forest Carbon Partnership Facility Carbon Fund project in Vietnam is to reduce deforestation and forest degradation. To achieve this, the project will provide training to increase production on remaining forest land, offer micro-financing to offset deferred income, and introduce measures to support local communities affected by longer harvesting cycles. Specific actions will be taken to address gender and poverty issues, improve livelihoods for ethnic minority households, and ensure collaborative forest management. The project aims to mitigate climate change, promote sustainable forest management, and reduce forest dependency through social assessments and targeted interventions.
