New tillage method boosts wheat yield and reduces irrigation needs significantly!
The researchers studied different ways to plant wheat after rice harvest in India. They tested five methods, including using a special machine called Happy Seeder. The Happy Seeder saved time and fuel compared to traditional methods. The method using Raised bed seed drill had the highest field capacity, while the method using Conventional seed-cum-fertilizer drill had the highest seed emergence. The method with No-tillage + Happy Seeder had the highest grain yield. The method with Cultivator + Disc harrow had the most plants and weeds. Overall, using the Happy Seeder was effective in saving time and resources while still producing good wheat yields.
