Estuary shifts reshape Yellow River Delta coastline, impacting land and communities.
The Yellow River Delta is a constantly changing area due to the shifting of its estuary. This shifting process goes through four steps, leading to the formation of sand mouths and bays. The coastline of the delta is dynamic, with some areas extending due to sediment deposits and others eroding due to lack of sediment and tidal erosion. The main goal of the research was to understand how the estuary shifting impacts coastline changes, analyzing land progradation and erosion rates, and the relationship between sediment quantity and coastline change.
