Hydrological frequency analysis is important for flood control projects. This study compared regional and traditional methods in Sichuan Province. Results showed differences in frequency distributions and rainstorm curves between the two methods. The design values also varied with the return period. Overall, regional and traditional analyses differed, especially at stations with the largest frequency analysis.
