Social descriptions outweigh facial trustworthiness in shaping first impressions.
The study looked at how people form impressions of others based on their facial appearance and behavior. They found that social description had a big impact on how people were perceived, while facial trustworthiness did not. People tended to judge competence more positively than warmth, suggesting they were more cautious in judging warmth. This research could help us understand how to manage the impressions we give off to others and build better relationships.
