New Cropping Pattern Boosts Crop Yield by 25% in Bangladesh Region!
The researchers conducted a field experiment in Cumilla, Bangladesh to improve crop productivity by changing the cropping pattern. They compared the traditional pattern (Potato - Boro - Fallow - T. Aman) with a new pattern (Potato - Boro - T. Aus - T. Aman). The new pattern resulted in a 25.90% increase in rice equivalent yield, with higher gross return, gross margin, and benefit cost ratio. This suggests that the new cropping pattern could be beneficial for farmers in the Cumilla region.
