Challenging social hierarchy leads to positive biases towards low-status groups.
The researchers studied how people view low-status groups and found that those who challenge social hierarchy tend to see low-status outgroup members more positively. They also discovered that when irrationality is seen as a common human trait, biases towards low-status groups decrease, especially among those who don't prioritize group dominance. This was observed in different countries and even when considering social desirability.
