Private forests in Nepal are facing challenges due to slow registration processes and complex permit requirements. Despite existing policies, private forest owners are hindered by lengthy processes and bans on commercial species. Simplifying permits and providing support can help promote private forestry. Lessons from community forest implementation can be used to mobilize farmers for organized action and intensify tree plantations. Policymakers need to allocate budgetary support for these initiatives.
