Flammable Substances in Korea Risk Devastating Domino Effect Explosions
Flammable substances like benzene, toluene, and xylene can cause chain reactions of explosions and fires, known as the domino effect. Different countries have varying safety distances to prevent these explosions. The US and EU have safer distances compared to Korea, Dubai, and Taiwan. By simulating explosion ranges, it was found that the latter countries have a higher risk of secondary explosions due to smaller safety distances. It is important to determine safety distances based on the amount and properties of flammable substances to prevent accidents.
