No-tillage in Turkey boosts crop yield, reduces emissions, and saves fuel.
No-tillage is a farming method in Turkey where crops are planted directly into the previous crop's stubble with minimal soil disturbance. This system helps retain nitrogen in the soil, improves soil quality, and reduces emissions and fuel consumption. Factors like the type of seeder and crop rotation affect its success. More specific research is needed to expand the use of no-tillage in the country. The goal of this study is to explore the benefits and challenges of implementing no-tillage compared to conventional tillage in Turkey.
