Leaves Waste Transformed into Nutrient-Rich Fertilizer, Slashing Disposal Costs
The goal of the study was to quickly turn leaves waste into nutrient-rich vermicompost using a hot compost method. By using earthworms to break down biodegradable waste like kitchen scraps, the researchers aimed to create organic fertilizer. The study reviewed existing literature on vermicomposting and suggested methods to achieve their goal. The researchers hope to produce vermicompost with the same nutrients as commercial products, while reducing costs for waste disposal at Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS.
