Sediment Changes Threaten River Mouth Width, Impacting Coastal Communities.
The Jangkok River mouth width changes over time due to sediment transport, potentially affecting the flow towards the sea. A study used aerial photography and modeling to analyze this. The smallest width observed was 6.88 meters, with river and coastal sediment transports of 4.03 m³/day and 5532.68 m³/day, respectively. When these sediment transports are balanced, the river mouth width is at its smallest.
