Obesity Epidemic Strikes Kinshasa Workplace, Urgent Action Needed!
The researchers studied 210 workers in Kinshasa to see how many were overweight or obese. They found that 23.8% were overweight and 48.1% were obese, with more women affected than men. The risk of obesity-related health problems increased with higher body weight. Sedentary behavior was a major factor in causing overweight and obesity. The main health issue linked to obesity in the workplace was high blood pressure. This shows that obesity is a significant problem among workers in Kinshasa, especially for managers and staff who are most affected.
