Revolutionizing wastewater filtration: Foam-glass media boosts efficiency and sustainability.
Foam-glass was tested as a filter for removing phosphorus in wastewater. It has more pores and is lighter than sand filters, which helps it capture particles better. This means it can filter water for longer and remove more contaminants. Foam-glass also needs less energy for cleaning compared to sand filters. This study shows that foam-glass could be a good alternative for fast filtration in wastewater treatment.
