The Lebak coals from different coalfields were analyzed to understand their type and quality. The coals are mainly made up of vitrinite, liptinite, and some inertinite and minerals. The type of coal and its quality depend on the climate and peat conditions where they formed. Older coals have higher quality due to more coalification and regional factors. Coals rich in vitrinite and low in inertinite are best for burning directly.
