Newly Discovered Coal Formation in Mamuju Area Reveals High Caloric Value!
The Kalumpang Formation in Mamuju area contains coal deposits from the Middle to Late Eocene period. The coal has high caloric value, low moisture, and varying sulfur content. Organic petrography analysis shows the coal is mainly composed of vitrinite, suggesting it formed from plants in wet forest swamps. The presence of vitrinite indicates minimal oxidation processes.
