Global agricultural trade reform can improve livestock production incentives and lower pollution from livestock waste. The study used a database to model changes in nitrogen balances from livestock and crop production. Results show that WTO trade reform in OECD countries is likely to lead to better nitrogen balances and reduced nitrogen pollution.
