The article discusses how Italy has embraced fiscal federalism in response to the global economic crisis. It explores the history and reasons behind federalism, different models, and common principles. The focus is on Italy's constitutional framework post-1948, the 2001 reform, and the implementation of Law No. 42/2009 for fiscal federalism. The direction for the future is also considered.
