New study finds optimal air temperature for comfort and energy savings.
The study looked at how different temperatures of air supplied in a building affect the comfort of people inside and the amount of energy used. They used computer simulations to see how changing the air temperature affected the indoor environment. They found that higher air temperatures made the indoor air warmer and less humid, while also increasing the amount of energy needed for cooling. A supply air temperature of 20°C was found to be the best balance for keeping people comfortable and saving energy.
