The study developed a method to plan urban green spaces in Barcelona by assessing and mapping ecosystem services. By analyzing 32 ecosystem services and different land use types, the researchers identified areas in the city that could benefit from green infrastructure. The results show where ecosystem services are provided, where areas are barren, and where there are obstacles. This information can help prioritize protected areas, plan new construction, identify potential areas for improvement, and areas that need renewal.
