Revolutionizing glass recycling: turning waste into self-supporting facade systems.
Borosilicate glass is often thrown away, but it can be recycled to make strong glass components for buildings. Regular glass recycling can't handle borosilicate glass, so it usually ends up in landfills. By using crushed recycled glass in the production process, the energy and cost of making borosilicate glass can be reduced. A new method of making cast glass components from recycled borosilicate glass has been developed, which can be used to create self-supporting facade systems. These components can be easily disassembled and reused, closing the recycling loop for borosilicate glass waste.
