The soil in the southern part of Datong Basin is salty and alkaline, mainly at the surface. It is moderately salty but highly alkaline, which can be harmful to plants. The more salt in the soil, the more sodium and alkalinity it has. The reason for the salty soil is the climate, landscape, and how the land is used. This study helps us understand how to better use the soil in this area.
