Boosting Corn Nitrogen Levels Leads to Higher Grain Protein Content
The researchers studied how different levels of nitrogen affected the efficiency of nitrogen use in corn plants, as well as the grain yield and composition. They found that low nitrogen levels increased nitrogen use efficiency and grain protein content, while high nitrogen levels increased grain yield and nitrogen accumulation in the grain. The study showed that nitrogen use efficiency and nitrogen accumulated in the grain were the most important factors contributing to grain yield.
