The article discusses how the relationship between a victim and a criminal is defined in the Criminal Code of Ukraine. By analyzing this relationship, the researchers aim to determine the importance of including specific characteristics in the law. They found that the current laws may not always accurately address situations where a victim's actions contribute to a crime, leading to potential errors in legal proceedings. To prevent these mistakes, it is suggested that a more thorough analysis of victim behavior is needed to ensure fair and just outcomes in criminal cases.
