Heating Persulfate Breakthrough: Phenol Wastewater Degradation Doubled at High Temperatures
Researchers studied how to clean up phenol wastewater using heated activated potassium persulfate. They found that at 35°C, with 200 mg/L phenol, 180 min reaction time, pH 3, and specific chemical ratios, they removed 13.61% of phenol and 12.30% of COD. When the temperature was raised to 85°C, removal rates increased to 32.17% for phenol and 26.72% for COD.
