The EU enlargement in 2004 allowed workers from Central and Eastern European countries to work in wealthier EU countries. However, the actual migration patterns were different than expected due to restrictions on labor mobility. This study looks at the economic impacts of this migration. It's hard to measure the exact impact of EU enlargement on migration because of limited and inconsistent data.
