In Nigeria, many people lack proper sanitation, with millions practicing open defecation. To address this, Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) was introduced in 2008 and has been successful in over 2,654 communities. More than 425 communities are now open defecation free. This approach has the potential to speed up sanitation improvements in Nigeria.
