The research analyzed productivity and efficiency changes in Vietnam's coal industry from 2007 to 2013 using Data Envelopment Analysis. The study found that total factor productivity in Vietnam's coal mining firms decreased due to slow technological progress and unimproved efficiency. This suggests that the industry has potential to increase productivity by improving technical efficiency through investments in human resources, technology, and research & development.
