Biochar Boosts Soil Fertility and Corn Growth, Combats Climate Change
Biochar can improve soil fertility and plant growth by adding it to soil. Different types of biochar and production methods can affect its properties. In this study, biochars from empty fruit bunches, wood, and rice husks were analyzed. The research showed that rice husk biochar had a stable carbon fraction. Adding biochar to soil improved soil physical properties and plant growth. The study used various analytical techniques to characterize the biochars and evaluate their effects on soil and plants. Overall, biochar can be a stable product that enhances soil fertility and carbon sequestration.
