Steam-Activated Carbon Outperforms CO2 in Treating Palm Oil Mill Effluent
Activated carbons made from palm empty fruit bunches were tested for their ability to clean palm oil mill effluent. The ones made with steam worked better than those made with CO2, removing more pollutants like COD, Mn, and H2S. The best results were seen with 5g of activated carbon, agitation at 200 rpm, and a 60-minute contact time.
