Stormwater Pollution Threatens Singapore's Parklands, Urgent Action Needed
Stormwater quality in Singapore's urban areas varies based on different types of land use. A study monitored 12 key water quality parameters in stormwater runoff from nine urban land uses. Parkland areas had higher levels of certain pollutants compared to other land uses. There were significant correlations between different water quality parameters, especially with total suspended solids. This data will help in creating better stormwater quality models and treatment plans for Singapore's catchments.
