Varicocele, Mumps, and Tobacco Chewing Linked to Male Infertility
The goal was to identify potential reasons for male infertility by examining factors that might affect sperm production. 601 men were studied, with those having sperm-related problems like low sperm count or mobility compared to normal sperm serving as cases. Varicocele, mumps orchitis, and tobacco use were linked to decreased sperm quality, increasing the risk of male infertility. Contrary to expectations, activities like being a motorcycle rider or having scrotal heat exposure did not affect semen quality. This indicates such factors could impact male fertility by altering sperm production.
