Boron application can boost wheat productivity and profits on alkaline soils. The study tested different ways of applying boron to wheat grown with plough tillage or zero tillage. Seed priming was best for increasing yield in zero tillage, while soil application worked best for plough tillage. Soil and foliage application improved grain quality by increasing boron and nitrogen levels. Zero tillage increased soil health and nutrient availability compared to plough tillage. Overall, boron application improved wheat performance and profitability, with seed priming and soil application being the most cost-effective methods for zero tillage and plough tillage, respectively.
