Planting winter wheat early boosts yield by 40%, revolutionizing crop production.
Planting date significantly affects the yield and characteristics of winter wheat varieties in Ardabil Region. Six wheat cultivars were studied across three planting dates, showing variations in plant height, spike length, seed weight, and more. The highest grain yield was seen in certain cultivars on the first and second planting dates. Early planting resulted in higher grain yield, plant height, and seed weight. Delaying planting led to a significant decrease in grain yield. The number of days to emergence, heading, and maturity increased with later planting dates. Positive relationships were found between grain yield and certain characteristics, while lysine content showed a negative correlation.
