New synthetic fiber filter boosts stormwater treatment efficiency by 27%!
A study tested synthetic fiber filters to clean up dirty water from construction sites. The filters were better than gravel filters, with 27% higher cleaning power. They worked well at different depths and flow rates, removing 20-52% of dirt. Adding a chemical called polyaluminium chloride made them even better at cleaning. When the filters got clogged, a simple wash got rid of most of the dirt. The study also made models to predict how well the filters would work in real life.
