New study reveals key factors for maximizing winter wheat yield.
The researchers studied different wheat varieties on acid soil over two years to see how they performed. In the year with moderate temperatures and high rainfall, the KG 56S and Vizija varieties had the highest grain yield. Perfekta had the highest 1000 grain weight, while Aleksandra had the lowest grain yield. They found that grain yield was positively linked to grain weight per spike, number of grains in the spike, and number of plants per square meter.
