Optimal tillage methods boost winter wheat yield and soil fertility.
Tillage methods and fertilizer systems were studied to improve winter wheat yield on leached chernozem soil. By using a calculation and balance method for fertilizer rates, researchers achieved a high yield of 6.01 t/ha after peas. Placing mineral fertilizer in the topsoil layer (0-20 cm) optimally fertilized the winter wheat. To maintain soil fertility and improve crop quality, a well-designed fertilizer system is essential. Modern systems should combine biological and mineral fertilizers based on specific soil and economic conditions. Different tillage methods affect soil structure and nutrient availability, influencing plant growth and productivity. The study was conducted at an experimental station focusing on biogeochemical flows in agrolandscapes, showing the importance of tailored fertilizer systems and tillage techniques for maximizing winter wheat yield.
