Billions in Public Funds Mismanaged by Procurement Officials Across America
Public procurement officials in the U.S. spend a lot of money buying things for public use. This study looked at what factors affect how states buy things, how they define good performance, and what makes a good contract. They talked to chief procurement officers from 45 states and 2 territories to learn more. The study suggests that there are different ways states handle procurement, and there are many factors to consider when making contracts. This research can help improve how states buy things in the future.
