Birdsfoot trefoil and red clover yields were boosted by using herbicides during their establishment. By applying EPTC and dinoseb before and after planting, weeds were controlled, and yields increased over untreated plots for two years. The combination of EPTC and dinoseb was cost-effective for birdsfoot trefoil, while only dinoseb was economically feasible for red clover at certain hay prices.
