Shrubs at Different Altitudes in Cameron Highlands Reveal Surprising Diversity
The researchers studied different types of shrubs at different altitudes in the R.E.A.C.H Biodiversity Centre in Cameron Highlands. They found a total of 35 species of shrubs belonging to 26 genera in 17 families. The shrubs were most diverse at lower altitudes, less diverse at middle altitudes, and least diverse at higher altitudes. Some important shrub species in the area include Aralia montana and Chassalia chartacea. Overall, the study area was found to be rich in shrub species diversity.
