New statistical method boosts accuracy in analyzing categorical data rankings.
The article discusses different statistical methods used to test how well data fits a certain distribution. It compares the traditional Chi-Square test with a more powerful Empirical Distribution Function test for categorical data. The study suggests that the new Combined Kolmogorov-Smirnov test statistic is even more powerful than both for some types of data. It recommends using this new test when dealing with partially ordered categories to improve accuracy in determining fit.
