Land administration in Brazil is complex due to historical issues. A study modeled the process of registering urban properties, showing it involves many steps, actors, time, and costs. The procedures for transferring property are intricate and lack support from an urban cadastre. Despite recent legal improvements, Brazil still lacks a complete land administration system.
