Land administration in Sierra Leone is currently disorganized, leading to credibility issues with land registration. The lack of trained surveyors and equipment hinders surveying quality. The new national lands policy aims to formalize land transactions while respecting customary systems. Mandatory recording and registration of land transactions can help implement this policy effectively. Communication campaigns will educate people on the importance of registering land promptly. Decentralization and empowering municipalities should improve efficiency. To modernize land administration, the manual recording system needs to be replaced with a digital one.
