New Game Strategy Promotes Cooperation Over Competition in Society
The article explores how adding time constraints to the Prisoner's Dilemma game can lead to more cooperative behavior. By setting a minimum level of computational ability for players, cooperation becomes possible. A new version of the game is suggested where players can choose to opt out, leading to more cooperative strategies. The study also introduces competitive analysis to study sub-optimal strategies that are still practical. It shows that, for players with limited resources, choosing a sub-optimal strategy can actually be the best decision.
