New Chaos Measurement Test Reveals Hidden Dynamics in Systems!
The article compares two methods for measuring chaos in dynamical systems: the Lyapunov Exponent test and the 0-1 test. The Lyapunov Exponent test requires phase space reconstruction and is easier to understand and implement if the map is known explicitly. It can also identify bifurcation points and super attractive points. On the other hand, the 0-1 test works directly with time series data and is more general, useful when phase space reconstruction is not possible. The study uses the logistic map to demonstrate the advantages and disadvantages of each method, ultimately showing that the Lyapunov Exponent test is more comprehensive in identifying chaotic dynamics.
