Revolutionizing Climate Change Projections with High-Resolution Super-Resolution Technology
Climate change impacts critical systems, but current models are too coarse to assess local effects. A new method called DeepSD uses super-resolution image processing to create high-resolution climate projections. DeepSD outperforms other statistical downscaling methods in predicting daily precipitation over the Continental United States. This approach can downscale data from over 20 Earth System Models with different emission scenarios.
