L-Carnitine improves sperm quality and fertility in diabetic rats.
Diabetes can cause male infertility by affecting the reproductive system. A study on diabetic rats showed that L-carnitine (LC) can improve sperm quality, reduce cell death in the testes, and lower blood sugar levels. Rats given higher doses of LC had better sperm count, motility, and viability, as well as healthier sperm morphology. The rats also had larger and healthier testicular tissues with fewer cell deaths. This suggests that LC can help improve fertility in diabetic males by improving sperm quality and testicular health.
