New herbicide treatment boosts wheat yield in arid Afghanistan.
A study in Afghanistan tested different weed control methods in wheat fields. Using sulfosulfuron herbicide at 25 g/ha reduced weed growth and increased wheat yield. This treatment was the most effective in controlling weeds and improving wheat production compared to other herbicides tested. Sulfosulfuron at 25 g/ha also resulted in higher profits for farmers. This suggests that using sulfosulfuron at this rate can help farmers in Kandahar, Afghanistan effectively manage weeds in wheat fields.
