Educating Eritrean Women Boosts Wages, Empowers Labor Force
The study looked at how education, earnings, and job opportunities affect urban Eritrean women's behavior in the labor market. Unlike traditional models, this study considered the idea that job opportunities are limited and some jobs are not visible. By analyzing data from Eritrean households, the researchers found that higher education levels lead to higher wages for women, encouraging more women to work. However, basic education alone does not increase job opportunities for women; at least secondary education is needed for that.
