The impact of higher petroleum prices in Indonesia was studied using a computer model. When the government reduced subsidies, prices went up and production costs increased. This led to lower consumer demand, production, and income. The study found that urban households were the most affected by the subsidy reduction, with a slight increase in prices and a decrease in output overall.
